Wrightsville Beach Resort   frequently asked questions

Get the answers to the most common questions Blockade Runner Beach Resort guests are asking, including information about our hotel's pet and smoking policies, room requests, hotel accessibility, and renovation.


What is your check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 4:00 pm. Check-out is at 11:00 am. Must be 21 years of age to stay with valid ID and major credit card. Personal checks and cash are typically not accepted. Cash accepted at check-out only. Authorization on credit card required at check-in for incidentals.

Can I check into my room early or have a late departure?

Please ensure we are aware of any early arrival requests. Although not guaranteed, we will do our best to accommodate. We will have limited late checkouts of 1pm available (additional $75 fee). Please reserve a late checkout in advance.

Are there additional fees on top of the average daily rate?

Additional fees include a 13% sales and occupancy tax. People age 13 and over are marked as adults; each additional adult, more than two, will be a $35 charge per night.

What is your cancellation policy?

If cancelling within 24 hours of 4 pm on the day of arrival, your one night deposit will be forfeited.  When booking advance purchase or e-special rates, full deposit would be forfeited if reservation is cancelled. Cancellation policies subject to change depending on the specific rate or package booked. 

What is the renovation timeline?

The renovations to the Blockade Runner will begin in September 2024 and are scheduled to be completed in early 2025.

Will the hotel remain open during renovations?

Yes, the hotel will remain open during renovations although some services and amenities may not be available. Please reach out to our Reservations team at 866-477-1442 regarding specific information for your dates.

What areas of the hotel will be affected by the renovation?

The resort will undergo comprehensive upgrades to the lobby and common areas, guestrooms and bathrooms, indoor and outdoor dining options, meeting and event spaces, and experiential offerings.

Will on-site dining be available?

On-site dining is not available at this time.

Who can I talk to about making a new reservation or modifying an existing reservation?

Our Reservations team will be happy to assist you with making a future reservation or modifying an existing reservation. Please reach out to them at 888-598-3257. All cancellation policies have been updated to a 24-hour notice. All parking fees during renovation have been waived.

Will any discounts or special offers be available to guests during the renovation?

We encourage you to sign up for our newsletters and special offers emails for up-to-date information on packages and special rate offerings.

Can I make a special request for my stay? i.e. adjoining rooms, floors, rollaways, etc.

While we can not guarantee special requests (such as connecting rooms, adjoining rooms, specific room numbers, décor or floors, rollaways, cribs, etc.), we will make every effort to honor your special requests.

Are pets allowed?

Blockade Runner is 100% pet free. There is a $500 deep cleaning fee for non-compliance.

Is smoking allowed?

Blockade Runner is 100% non smoking. There is a $500 deep cleaning fee for non-compliance.

Are handicap rooms available?

Handicap rooms are available only in certain Oceanfront Queen Rooms and Harborfront Queen Rooms. Please contact us prior to your arrival to secure one of these rooms.

How can I get ice for my room?

The front desk is happy to assist you in getting ice delivered to your room. To minimize noise level in our hallways, we do not have ice machines on any of the floors. Please visit or call the front desk or kitchen and they will gladly help.

Do I need to wear the wristband?

The wristbands must be visibly worn to indicate you are a resort guest. All resorts guests are asked to wear them to indicate to others that you are a registered guest.

Am I allowed to have visitors?

Our resort is open to visitors of resort guests; however, only guests with a wristband are permitted to use the pool, lawn loungers and other on-site amenities.

Is luggage or valet assistance available?

Luggage assistance is available from our bellmen. Valet parking is available or guests may self-park in our main parking lot. 1 vehicle can self-park and 1 vehicle can valet.

Is Housekeeping available during my stay?

Housekeeping will provide stayover service daily. Please utilize your Do Not Disturb sign should you wish to decline housekeeping services.

Can I get a Rollaway or Pack n Play?

If we know prior to arrival that you need a rollaway or pack n play we will have them in the room. Rollaways and Pack n Plays are limited and subject to availability. If available, only one can be provided per room.

Are wheelchairs available?

Beach wheelchairs are available through the town of Wrightsville beach, reservations must be completed in advance with the Town of Wrightsville Beach. Click here to find more information.

Are the beaches open?

The beach is open year round. All of our boating activities are available subject to weather conditions. Check our calendar to see what is available during your stay.

Will activities be available?

Currently, only Soundside activities are available. Please visit our activities page or click here to learn more.

Are there other restaurants and shops open in Wrightsville Beach?

Yes, there are numerous restaurants within close proximity to the hotel. A handful of downtown Wrightsville Beach restaurants are within safe walking distance of the resort.
