Wrightsville Beach Biathlon
Test your skills in this exciting Paddle Board and Running Event! The Biathlon begins regatta style on your Paddle Board at the dock of the Blockade Runner Beach Resort. Test your endurance as you paddle your way through Banks Channel. From there, push yourself to the next level as you hop off your board and begin the run that will take you from pier to pier on Wrightsville Beach Island. The Azalea Triathlon will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 and Sunday, March 14, 2010. This event benefits Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training and UNCW Swimming & Diving Team. Quintiles Marathon at Wrightsville Beach
The inaugural Quintiles Marathon and Half Marathon at Wrightsville Beach will be a historic event for those who participate. On Sunday, March 21st 2010 thousands of runners will begin their marathon quest from beautiful Wrightsville Beach. Kure Beach Double Sprint Triathlon 2010
The Kure Beach Double Sprint is now in it’s 14th year.The race format starts with a 375 Meter Swim, 1.5 Mile Run, 20K Bike, 1.5 Mile Run, and finishes with a 375 Meter Swim. The biggest race in the Inside-Out Sports North Carolina Triathlon Series will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010, and is the largest single distance, one day event from northern Virginia to Florida with 1,300 participants! The race begins here at the Blockade Runner with a 1,500 meter swim, includes a 12 mile bike ride, and finishes with a 5K Run around the popular Wrightsville Beach “Loop”. Battleship North Carolina 1/2 Marathon
The 12th annual Battleship North Carolina Half Marathon and Battleship 5K will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2010, and is a beautiful and challenging USATF certified half marathon that starts and finishes at the Battleship North Carolina. The course crosses two bridges over the Cape Fear River, goes through historic downtown Wilmington, tours beautiful Greenfield Lake, and returns to the Battleship via the Memorial Bridge. Beach 2 Battleship Iron Distance
The Beach 2 Battleship Half and Full Iron Distance returns in it’s third year on Saturday, November 13, 2010. The race will take participants from Wrightsville Beach to Downtown Wilmington, and many places in between!
