Have you ever dreamed of what it’s like to work at a beach resort? Wrightsville’s classic boutique Resort is pleased to join the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and other businesses across North Carolina for Students@Work℠ Week. On March 27, students will spend a day on the job at our resort, touring the different employee departments and visiting with leadership.

Students@Work℠ is a joint initiative between the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.  This year’s program includes more than 100 companies and will affect approximately 20,000 students.

Students will learn about what it’s like to work in the hospitality industry, from back of the house to front of the house, and what it takes to maintain a cutting edge surf-to-sound property. “We are hoping to expose these students to the wide range of job opportunities that exist within a resort hotel environment. They will see that while it takes many people working very hard to operate a hotel, that it is a great deal of fun and could prove to be a very fulfilling career. From Front Desk Agent, to Food & Beverage talent, to Sales Office professional, to Stand-Up-Paddleboard Instructor, a career in hospitality offers great diversity. And in pleasing your many guests, it is especially rewarding” said Karen Pennington in Marketing.

Students@Work℠ is made possible by a grant from GSK.
